Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge

Next stop was something we've been thinking about for a while, but as it turns out, we were not here in prime migration season which is what all the hullabaloo is about.

But ya know what, it's still a pretty place with a number of feathered friends (among others critters).  So we brought out the binoculars and the camera, to see what we might see.  Take a look and enjoy the view:

There is a lovely self-guided car loop (two actually) with plenty of road width and pull outs that let you stop whenever you see something you want a closer look at.  If you are in the area, I'd highly recommend it.  We bought a road runner coffee mug in the gift shop, so we were happy to see the real thing on our drive.
