So as we leave Joshua Tree National Park, we are only about 100 miles from the Lazy Daze factory. A trip we can easily make in a day -- heck before lunch ;-)
However, we are still 5 days away from our preplanned scheduled arrival. See why I am not a fan of plans? So we needed to kill some time. We decided to check out Big Bear Lake, and found a pretty nice campground there. Our expectation from looking on-line was that it would be full. But apparently there was some glitch in their reservation system, and there were quite a few spots available.

After spending a night around ~7000 ft (and it was pretty windy and chilly), we decided to try to find a boondocking spot at a lower elevation. We found a nice one off Jenks Lake Rd East, at GPS: 34.1664 -116.8491, in the San Bernardino National Forest. We spent a couple of nights here and had a good spot for solar for the panels.

We still had one more night to kill, and were going to stay at a Camping World in San Bernardino. Turns out they had no dump station or water fill, so we went up the road aways, and after taking care of business, decided instead to just head to the Lazy Daze Motorhome Factory early, in case that might help with their schedule and our repairs. Let's just say that was a wise choice. More on that in the next post.
