Encore! Encore!

Well, it's been more than 8 years since we finished our maiden voyage, but we are finally back out on the road.  Steve had been toying with the idea of retirement when we got Thistle Dew Too in 2008 (remember that year? -- would not have been a good year to retire!), but instead was sent to Germany and later to Hawaii for work assignments.  So everything worked out for the best.

But last October, Steve finally did retire from MITRE after more than 37 years.  And the idea was that we might take out Thistle Dew Too before the snow flew in NH.  Well, as you can see by this picture, we missed that milestone:

That's over 3 feet of snow and ice from two recent storms sitting atop Thistle Dew Too, and she doesn't look too happy.  But amazingly, she survived.  Steve added a new pantry for the extra food the vegan Crisps (sounds like a good snack food ;-) to prepare on the road.  More about the pantry, and other improvements, in our Thistle Dew Too Improvements blog later.

So finally, on Friday, 17 February, we hit the road again!  Our only plans are to visit some relatives in AZ, CA, and NV.  Oh yeah, and head south as quickly as possible.  Other than that, we have "no place to be, and all day to get there".  But we'll keep you posted on where our noses take us.
